The start-up phase of Republic Now/République du Canada has been funded by donations from the initial Board of Directors. Initial membership dues have been set low so as not to discourage any potential members. This leaves a gap in funding operating costs.

Similarly, the more resources we have the more we will be able to do in fulfilling our primary mission of replacing the non-resident British monarch as Canada’s Head of State with a democratically-selected, resident Canadian — and promoting the various allied reform issues associated with this mission (citizenship oath, oaths of office, currency, democratization of office of governor general, etc) .

For all these reasons we warmly welcome financial donations to Republic Now/République du Canada. The Board of Directors will review all donations of $100 or more for special consideration and periodically publish lists of donors. All donors of $5 or more who are not already members automatically become members

Maybe you should take some lessons in understanding the importance and value of Canada’s constitutional monarchy.

A Canadian Head of State

When Canada takes control of its office of head of state, by filling the position independently and internally, we will achieve another milestone in our evolution as a nation.

Values

Only when our head of state is selected democratically will our highest office embody the values of our Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

Independence

After 150 years of nationhood it is truly unfortunate that Canada still lacks the self-assurance to fill and administer its own office of head of state. Canada is the only member of the G7 which does not independently administer its highest office.
