Explaining the coming changeover, Barbados’ Governor General, Sandra Mason, said : “Barbadians want a Barbadian head of state. This is the ultimate statement of confidence in who we are and what we are capable of achieving. It would be wonderful to be a republic, election of our head of state . I would like to see judges e.elected not appointed. If Barbados can do it so can we.
